FIELD TRIPS AND PARTIES

Field trips to Rader Family Farms are a great way to educate children through entertainment. In 2009, we hosted over 1500 school children from in and around McLean County. We hope you make a trip to the farm part of your learning experience this fall.

The best way to get started is to submit the form below. We'll follow up by email or phone to confirm your reservation.

• When you register online, we will follow up with an email to confirm your reservation date and time.
• Once that is done, you will need to send a $50 Deposit to hold your spot. Make your payment out to Rader Family Farms and mail it to: 1238 Ropp Road, Normal, IL 61761.
• Please bring the remainder of your payment the day of your field trip in the form of a check or you may charge the balance.

Things to Know Regarding Field Trips
· Field Trip Hours: 9am - 4pm Monday - Friday (2 hr time slots)
· No field trips on Columbus Day Monday, Oct. 11 or Oct. 18
· Spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis
· Allow 1.5 hrs for your field trip/2 hrs if eating lunch
· Dress appropriately. It's usually windy at the farm
· Accessible restroom facilities are also available

Admission Charges

• No charge for teachers
• $5.00 charge for each child
• One chaperone per every 5 children - no charge
• Parents and other siblings 3 and up- $5.00 each. Under 3 are free
• Groups under 10 persons or less may be combined with another group
• $50 deposit required when fieldtrip is confirmed to hold spot
• Cancellations made more than 1 week prior to date will receive a refund
• No refund on cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the date

The $5.00 admission fee includes:

• Farm movie and small bag of popcorn
• Hayride to pumpkin patch/learn how pumpkins grow
• Pick your own pumpkin from the patch
• Each child receives a copy of “The Ag Mag on Pumpkins”
• Play time on all the farm play adventures
• Visit the Little Barnyard animals
• Play in the Crow's Nest play ground
• Play in the Little Village/children 6 and under only
• Jump on the exciting and fun new jumping pillow
• Entrance to Kiddie Cornbelter’s Maze
• Use of the picnic area/please reserve when booking field trip

Additional Options

• Bon Fire & Sticks: $15.00 charge/indicate on registration form
• Cider available at the Pumpkin Blossom Café for $6/gallon

Teachers

• Please bring inhalers etc. for any child who may have allergies or asthma or may experience difficulties while playing on and around straw or other farm activities.
• Please encourage children to dress for the weather

Rainy Day Plan
**On days when the weather is not favorable and does not allow outside play, we will have fun fall activities for the children to do inside the pumpkin barn. Each child will take a pre-picked pumpkin home. We encourage you to come, rain or shine!
